CYBERFARE is a side-scrolling action game about surviving waves of enemies and beating bosses. You pick one of two fighters. GARO shoots a bow. SUPREME uses a sword and a rocket thruster that lets him fly. They play differently and each has their own upgrades.
You start with a basic attack and a dodge. SUPREME also starts with a parry, and GARO has to buy his. Everything else is locked behind the points shop. You earn points by killing enemies and spend them between waves on moves like the heavy attack, slide, slam, shotgun, grapple, guard and hourglass. SUPREME has his own: thruster flight, rocket boost and a bomb you set off yourself. There's a second shop page for health: extra hearts, healing, regeneration and a couple of luck-based perks.
After every wave you pick an upgrade card. Every card helps you and hurts you at the same time, so you might get more damage but less max health. Cards come in four rarities, and two of the same rarity merge into the next one up. There are over 40 of them, and what you're offered depends on who you're playing and what you've bought.
The fighting is about timing. Parry at the right moment and the enemy's attack is cancelled and it gets stunned. Dodge and you can't be hit for a moment. Land hits to build your style rank, which goes from DULL up to SUPREME and drains quickly if you stop. Time powers let you stop time or rewind. Big hits flash the screen in black and white for a split second.
The enemies include grunts, medusas that spit acid, minigun turrets, mortars that lob huge shells, drones that teleport, and a rocket robot with a drill you can parry. Bosses show up every few waves with their own arenas and cutscenes.
Modes:
- Main Story: 30 waves and every boss, with checkpoints.
- Endless: waves forever, with a mini boss every few waves.
- Hard: the story with no checkpoints.
- Speed Run: the story against a clock.
- Sandbox: no waves. Spawn anything you like. You can put enemies on red and blue teams and thats it the game is a side project meant to be bigger and also created to make fun of someone that made fun about me making a game lets see how that will play CYBERWARE started as a side project, and it's still growing. More is planned. Thanks for playing, and tell me what you think in the comments.
